Hon. Vicson Bright Selorm, Deputy Minority Whip of the Ho Municipal Youth Parliament, has submitted a petition to the Rent Control Department regarding the increasingly expensive cost of hostel accommodation across the Ho Municipality.
Hon. Selorm highlighted that soaring hostel rates are putting immense financial strain on students and young residents who rely on reasonably priced housing to further their education.
Through the petition, he is asking the Rent Control Department to look into the matter and enforce measures that compel hostel owners to charge fair and regulated rates.
He emphasized that the initiative is intended to shield students and local residents from unfair pricing while helping establish a more structured and affordable housing system in the municipality.
Hon. Selorm called on the appropriate agencies to act swiftly on the issue to ease the burden on students, families, and the general public.
