As part of activities for the 2026 Youth Month Festival, the Parliament of Ghana through its Department of Public Engagement partnered with the National Youth Authority (NYA) to host a National Youth Parliament Mock Sitting.
The initiative offered young citizens hands-on experience with legislative processes while fostering active dialogue on key national issues.
Key dignitaries present at the event included the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Hon. George Opare Addo; the Clerk to Parliament, Rev. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror; the CEO of the National Youth Authority, Mr. Osman Ayariga; and the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, alongside other key stakeholders.
This shows the government’s efforts to make youths become part of the development agenda, giving them room to express ideas and make meaningful and futuristic decision. The Youth Parliament mock sitting has brought Ghana's cooperative efforts into life, giving opportunity to the youth in decision making.
