The Volta Regional House of Chiefs, led by Togbi Tepre Hodo IV (President), a group of traditional leaders and political icons from the Volta Region, met with the Education Minister, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, to discuss key educational development projects in the region.
This key meeting is focused on the planned upgrade of Ohawu Agricultural College into a fully-fledged agricultural university, as well as addressing critical infrastructure challenges facing selected schools across the Volta Region.
The delegation expressed optimism following the government’s assurance to provide the necessary infrastructure and resources to commence the university upgrade process.
They welcomed the commitment as a significant step toward improving access to quality education and promoting agricultural research and innovation. Stakeholders pledged to closely monitor progress to ensure that the promises are fulfilled, emphasizing that quality education remains essential to the socio-economic development of the region.
This gesture is a step forward to making sure equal attention is payed to agricultural schools as the government makes efforts to encourages youths to embrace and take agricultural related ventures.
