The excitement is building in the Volta Region as the official schedule and pairings for the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Regional Qualifiers have been unveiled. Organized by Primetime in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES), the high-stakes academic competition will run over three consecutive days, from July 22 to July 24, 2026. Senior High Schools across the region are gearing up to battle for a coveted spot in the national championship, with the entire event receiving key support from CHASS, Kanzu, and Studio HD.
The thrilling action kicks off on Wednesday, July 22, featuring the first three contests of the qualifiers as detailed in the flyers. Contest 1 presents a fierce four-way matchup between Kpando SHS, Dabala SHTS, Kpedze SHS, and Three-Town SHS.
Following this, Contest 2 will see Bishop Herman College (Kpando) square off against Some SHS and Vakpo SHS. The first day wraps up with Contest 3, where OLA SHS (Ho), Jim Bourton Memorial Agric SHS, and Klikor SHTS will clash to decide who advances.
The academic intensity carries into Thursday, July 23, with Contests 4, 5, and 6 taking center stage as shown in image.png. Contest 4 will feature a battle between Anlo SHS, Dzodze Penyi SHS, and Tsito SHTS. Meanwhile, Contest 5 will bring together E.P. SHS (Hohoe), Adidome SHS, and St. Catherine SHS in a highly competitive bracket. The second day of qualifiers concludes with Contest 6, pitting Sogakope SHS, Battor SHS, and Mafi Kumase SHTS against each other.
The final leg of the regional qualifiers takes place on Friday, July 24, bringing the preliminary rounds to a dramatic close as presented in image_2.png. Contest 7 will see Abor SHS, Akatsi SHTS, and Zion College locking horns for supremacy. This will be closely followed by Contest 8, featuring Awudome SHS, E.P.C. Mawuko Girls' SHS (Ho), and Wovenu SHTS. The regional qualifiers will officially conclude with Contest 9, a stellar matchup between St. Paul's SHS & Minor Seminary (Denu), Anfoega SHS, and Keta Business College.
With nine intense contests spread across three days, this year's Volta Regional Qualifiers promise a showcase of brilliant minds, sharp wits, and exceptional sportsmanship.
