Verdi Pharmacy Donates GHC80,500 Medical Equipment to Ho Teaching Hospital NICU

2 min read

Verdi Pharmacy has donated essential medical equipment valued at GHC 80,500.00 to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH). The donated items, which include a Firefly phototherapy unit and two 2.5HP air conditioners, were presented in response to an urgent appeal by the hospital management to expand and retool its neonatal care facilities.

Presenting the items on behalf of the pharmacy, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Divine Azameti emphasized that the gesture reflects the organization's corporate social responsibility and steadfast commitment to advancing quality healthcare across local communities. He noted that the new phototherapy unit will complement existing infrastructure to effectively treat newborns suffering from neonatal jaundice and elevated bilirubin levels, while the air conditioning units will ensure a stable, safe thermal environment for critically ill infants.

Receiving the donation, the Management of Ho Teaching Hospital expressed deep gratitude to Verdi Pharmacy for the timely intervention. Officials noted that the support will substantially boost the NICU’s operational capacity, enhance treatment outcomes for vulnerable neonates, and contribute to reducing neonatal morbidity and mortality rates across the region.

The management assured the donors that the equipment would be put to optimal use for the benefit of newborns and their families. They also seized the opportunity to appeal to other corporate bodies, philanthropists, and benevolent individuals to emulate Verdi Pharmacy’s generous example in retooling the premier referral facility in the Volta Region.
