Ten inmates at the Sunyani Female Prison have successfully finished an intensive three-week vocational training program designed to support their rehabilitation and smooth reintegration into the community.
Organized in partnership with local businesses Ruby Bakehouse and Bliss and Glams, the initiative focused on equipping the participants with practical, marketable skills.
During the pastries segment, led by Ruby Bakehouse, the women acquired hands-on experience in making chips, ring doughnuts, and various fried and baked items. Meanwhile, Bliss and Glams facilitated sessions on hair and wig styling, teaching specialized techniques like ponytail installation and frontal fitting to help inmates enter the thriving beauty sector.
The Officer in Charge commended Ruby Mahama (Ruby Bakehouse) and Dorcas Mensah (Bliss and Glams) for partnering with the Ghana Prisons Service to advance its reform and rehabilitation mission.
