A major road accident was averted on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, when six men survived a dramatic crash at Biremso, near Anyinasin Junction.
A black Toyota Corolla (GR 1425-18) lost control and plunged into the Birim River. The Bunso Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) was alerted at 9:04 AM, with an emergency crew led by ADO II Dacosta Amankwah arriving on site within seven minutes.
Before emergency responders reached the location, quick-thinking local bystanders rushed into the water to rescue all six male passengers. The victims, who suffered varying degrees of injury, were immediately taken to the Hawa Saviour Memorial Hospital for treatment. No deaths were reported.
Although the vehicle was completely wrecked, fire officers managed to salvage several personal items from the wreckage. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine what caused the vehicle to leave the road.
