On behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, Interior Minister Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak (MP) presented a 33-seater Eicher bus to the Ghana Prisons Service on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
The brief handover ceremony took place at the Prisons Headquarters in Accra, fulfilling a pledge the President previously made when commissioning the Damongo Camp Prison.
The Director-General of Prisons, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (ESQ), received the vehicle keys, expressing sincere gratitude to both the President and the Interior Minister. She assured officials that the vehicle would be assigned promptly to the intended facility to support daily operations.
The presentation was attended by several high-profile officials, including the Minister for Energy, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, along with delegates from the Ministry and senior officers of the Prisons Service.
This new addition is set to significantly improve the administrative and transportation capacity of the Ghana Prisons Service.
