President John Dramani Mahama Commissions New Ave Dakpa Police District Headquarters in Akatsi North

President John Dramani Mahama has officially commissioned the newly constructed Ghana Police Service District Headquarters at Ave Dakpa, marking a major step forward in strengthening security infrastructure across the Akatsi North District and its surrounding communities.

The colourful commissioning ceremony, held on Saturday, drew a large crowd of traditional leaders, security personnel, local residents, and dignitaries. Attendees gathered in front of the modern two-storey facility, which features a prominent Ghana Police Service signboard and was adorned with the national colours of Ghana red, yellow, and green for the occasion.

Speaking at the event, President Mahama emphasised the importance of adequate police infrastructure in maintaining law and order and fostering community safety. The new headquarters is expected to significantly improve policing operations, enhance response times, and provide better working conditions for officers serving the district.

The facility, located at Ave Dakpa, replaces older and inadequate structures and comes equipped with modern amenities designed to support effective administration and community engagement. It forms part of broader government efforts to upgrade security infrastructure nationwide, particularly in rural and semi-urban districts.

Traditional authorities and residents expressed appreciation for the development, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that will bring greater peace and security to the area.
