Oti Clash

Renewed clashes in Odomi within Ghana's Oti Region have left three people dead and nine injured, prompting swift government action. The Interior Minister imposed a dawn-to-dusk curfew on several communities, effective from June 19, alongside a ban on weapons.

The violence, part of ongoing tensions in Nkwanta South, has disrupted daily life and raised fears of further escalation. Security forces are on high alert to restore calm, with authorities urging restraint and dialogue among conflicting parties.

Affected communities including Keri, Nyambo, and Odomi now face restricted movement from 5 PM to 6 AM. Local leaders and youth have been called upon to promote peace and avoid violence as investigations continue into the root causes.

This incident highlights persistent security challenges in the region. Government officials, including NADMO teams, are providing support while emphasizing non-violent resolution to prevent further loss of life and property.
