National Security Secretariat Consults Volta Region Stakeholders on Security Strategy Revision

The National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), alongside the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council and the Volta Regional Security Council (REGSEC), has held a consultative meeting with key stakeholders in the Volta Region. The gathering forms part of a broader nationwide effort to review and update Ghana's 2020 National Security Strategy (NSS).

​Organized at the Chances Hotel in Ho, the session offered participants a detailed look at the 2020 framework, evaluating its performance to date while introducing proposed updates for the upcoming strategy.

​Delivering remarks on behalf of the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, Col. Charles Debrah (Rtd.) emphasized the value of the engagement. He noted that local participation is critical to ensuring the updated policy adequately addresses the specific security vulnerabilities and conditions within the Volta Region.

​The forum brought together representatives from security agencies, traditional authorities, religious groups, civil society organizations, and media outlets. Attendees discussed presssing security concerns and offered practical recommendations to enhance the country's overall safety framework.

​All feedback gathered during the session will be incorporated into the revised National Security Strategy, ensuring the final policy effectively responds to Ghana's evolving security landscape.
