The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North and Member of the Local Government and Rural Development Committee, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni, has urged the Suaman District Assembly to immediately disburse funds allocated to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) under the local apprenticeship programme.
Speaking during a public hearing, Hon. Awuni emphasized the need for transparency, asking the Assembly to provide clear evidence that the funds have reached the right beneficiaries. She stressed that supporting PWDs is crucial for promoting inclusivity and improving their overall well-being.
Her remarks came as the Suaman District Assembly appeared before the Local Government and Rural Development Committee to present its 2025 Audit Committee Annual Statement.
The hearing brought together representatives from Regional Coordinating Councils (RCCs) as well as Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across the Western and Western North Regions.
