Mahama Reaffirms Commitment to Equitable Growth: Pledges Key Infrastructure Boost for Ahafo Region

2 min read

President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to driving equitable development across Ghana, assuring residents of the Ahafo Region of sustained and expanded investments across critical sectors. Speaking at a well-attended Citizens’ Engagement in Goaso on Saturday, the President highlighted ongoing national recovery efforts while promising that no region will be left behind in the country’s growth agenda.

The Goaso engagement marked the successful conclusion of President Mahama’s two-day #ResettingGhana Tour of the Ahafo Region. During the event, he expressed deep gratitude to the traditional authorities, local leaders, and community members for their unwavering support during the 2024 General Election, emphasizing that public trust remains the bedrock of his government’s policy direction and governance framework.

Addressing pressing local and national priorities, the President outlined targeted interventions aimed at accelerating progress in road infrastructure, healthcare delivery, agriculture, and broader economic recovery. A major highlight of his address was the announcement of a strategic project to rehabilitate and expand road networks across all 16 regional capitals—a key milestone planned ahead of Ghana’s upcoming 70th Independence Anniversary celebrations.

In addition to infrastructure enhancement, President Mahama detailed plans to strengthen the national health sector through expanded access to primary healthcare and enhanced specialized medical treatment. He reassured the people of Goaso and the wider Ahafo Region that these socio-economic initiatives are designed to yield measurable improvements in daily living standards, foster regional commerce, and secure long-term national prosperity.
