Mafi Traditional Council Demands Action: Petitions Volta Regional Minister For Underdevelopment

2 min read

The Mafi Traditional Council led by Togbe Asafo Buatri IV (Acting President), together with other members, petitions to the Volta Regional Minister Honorable James Gunu at Ho, reporting issues of educational underdevelopment and poor road infrastructure appealing for government’s support to address their needs within the Mafi Traditional Area and the Central Tongu District.

The Traditional Council in their petition, has petitioned the Regional Minister to upgrade the Adidome Agricultural Farm Institute into a higher education university. Specifically, they want to turn it into a Veterinary College that offers advanced degrees in animal health, livestock care, and agricultural growth.

They noted that the upgrade would create employment opportunities, improve agricultural productivity, and make the area a centre of excellence for veterinary education.

The Traditional Council also appealed to the Regional Minister to support the rehabilitation of major roads within the district. They emphasized the urgent need to reconstruct the road network linking communities in the Central Tongu District, particularly the Adidome Township Road, which has deteriorated and continues to affect transportation, trade, education, healthcare delivery, and other socio-economic activities.

Hon. James Gunu assured the Traditional Council that their concerns are verily noted and would be forwarded to the appropriate government authorities for the necessary consideration and action.
