Hon. Charles Akwasi Agbeve, Vice-Chairperson of the Local Government and Rural Development Committee, has emphasized the need for enhanced oversight to ensure that funds allocated to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are properly utilized to procure necessary supplies for beneficiaries.
He made this appeal during a public hearing where the Ketu South Municipal Assembly presented its 2025 Audit Committee Annual Statement.
The hearing convened the Volta Regional Coordinating Council alongside various MMDAs across the region to account for public spending and address financial discrepancies cited in their audit reports.
Participating MMDAs included Adaklu, Ho West, Ketu South, Central Tongu, Akatsi North, Afadzato South, Akatsi South, Hohoe, North Dayi, South Tongu, Agortime Ziope, Anloga, Ketu North, Ho, and Kpando.
