Kristo Asafo Mission Supports Koforidua Inmates with Generous Donation

The Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, alongside the family of the late Emeritus Professor Apostle Kwadwo Safo, has presented a range of relief items to inmates at the Koforidua Prison to enhance their welfare and rehabilitation.

​The presentation took place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Speaking at the event, Mr. Obed Kwadwo Safo Jr., son of the late Apostle, explained that the gesture was part of activities commemorating his father's birthday and reflected their ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society. As part of the visit, the delegation also presented an official citation to the prison administration.

​Receiving the items on behalf of the facility, the Officer in Charge, Assistant Director of Prisons Francis Agyirey Kwakye, thanked the church and the Safo family for their benevolence. He further encouraged the public to support the Director-General’s Think Prisons 360° initiative, which aims to improve correctional services nationwide.

​Addressing the inmates, church representative Nana Boakye urged them to cherish their liberty once restored and to refrain from activities that could lead back to incarceration.

​This act highlights the vital role faith-based institutions and private individuals play in assisting correctional centers, promoting prisoner rehabilitation, and fostering successful reintegration into the community.
