IPCA Marks Global Prayer Day and Unveils Ankaful Prison Clinic Initiative

1 min read

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, the International Prisons Chaplaincy Association (IPCA) gathered at the Fellowship of Grace Assemblies of God in Pedu for its Global Prayer Day, dedicated to interceding for prison inmates, correctional officers, and their families.

During the service, the IPCA officially launched the Ankaful Maximum Security Prison Clinic Project. This initiative seeks to raise funds to renovate, resource, and equip the facility with modern operating theater gear, beds, and essential medical supplies. Beyond improving healthcare quality for prisoners, the upgraded clinic will minimize security risks involved in transferring inmates to external hospitals.

Rev. Dr. Evans Ekanem, IPCA Central Region Chairperson, emphasized the organization's ongoing dedication to improving the medical care, general welfare, and spiritual development of inmates.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the service, Regional Commander DDP. Joseph Asabre praised the IPCA for its steadfast commitment and called for continued partnership to support the prison community.
