The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has officially promoted Inspector Hance Atubra to the rank of Chief Inspector. The Tarkwa Divisional Headquarters officer was honored for his prompt and heroic intervention during a recent fire at Aboso in the Western Region.
The blaze broke out on August 26, 2026, destroying several shops around the Aboso Main Lorry Station and causing significant property damage.
Arriving as the first responder, Inspector Atubra quickly entered the danger zone to evacuate trapped residents and lead victims away from the spreading flames. Witnesses praised his quick thinking and courage, which ultimately prompted senior officials to recommend him for immediate elevation.
The Police Administration noted that the promotion reflects its commitment to acknowledging and rewarding personnel who show outstanding bravery and devotion to public service.
