In a remarkable demonstration of commitment to education and literacy development in the Central Tongu District, Ian-Calvin Gavivina Okudzeto has donated books and reading materials to support the newly established Adidome Community Library. The generous contribution is expected to strengthen academic learning and encourage a stronger reading culture among students and residents in the Adidome community and surrounding areas.

The donation was specifically aimed at supplementing the library’s existing stock of books and learning materials to ensure that users have access to a wider range of educational content. The materials are expected to benefit pupils, students, teachers, and community members seeking knowledge and academic support.

The Adidome Community Library project itself stands as a major community-driven initiative championed by Togbe Kwasinyi Kakakloko Agyeman V, the Dufia of Adidome, in collaboration with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, as well as friends and family of the revered traditional leader. The project was established with the vision of creating a safe and resourceful learning space for children and young people in the area, while also promoting lifelong learning within the broader community.

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, stakeholders noted that libraries continue to play a vital role in educational advancement, especially in communities where access to books and digital learning resources may be limited. They emphasized that investments in literacy and education remain critical to empowering the youth and preparing them for future opportunities. The establishment of the library, coupled with continuous support from individuals and organizations, is therefore seen as a positive step toward community transformation and educational progress.

Residents and local leaders have since expressed appreciation to Ian-Calvin Gavivina Okudzeto and all contributors to the Adidome Community Library project for their dedication to community development. The project is expected to continue attracting support from philanthropists and education advocates who share the vision of improving literacy and educational opportunities in the Volta Region.
