2 min read

In a poignant revelation that has touched many hearts, the Member of Parliament for Hohoe has highlighted the dire conditions at Fodome Abledze Primary School, where young learners are reportedly seeing their future through dilapidated walls. This heartbreaking situation represents one of 11 schools in the constituency urgently requiring intervention this year. The MP’s message underscores the daily struggles faced by students and teachers in the Abledze community, painting a vivid picture of an education system in desperate need of support.

Responding swiftly to the challenge, the MP has announced plans to cut the sod on Friday, 4th July, to kickstart a comprehensive construction project. The initiative includes building a six-unit classroom block for the primary department, a three-unit facility for the Junior High School (JHS), teachers’ quarters, and a dedicated ICT laboratory. This multi-faceted development aims to provide a conducive learning environment and essential resources for the community’s children.

The MP expressed optimism about the positive impact this project will bring, stating, “I see joy coming to our little champions.” Residents and stakeholders are invited to join the historic groundbreaking ceremony next week Friday to witness the beginning of this transformative effort. The development is expected to significantly boost educational outcomes and uplift the entire Abledze community.

This proactive step signals hope for other underserved areas, with the MP assuring that “Your community may be next.” The project stands as a testament to committed leadership focused on improving infrastructure and opportunities for the youth in Hohoe.
