Hon Peter Nortsu-Kotoe Cuts Sod for Major Development Projects in Akatsi North

2 min read

Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, Member of Parliament for Akatsi North, has demonstrated his commitment to grassroots development by performing sod-cutting ceremonies for several critical infrastructure projects across the constituency. Accompanied by NDC Constituency Chairman Dr. Richard Awudza, constituency and branch executives, traditional leaders, and enthusiastic community members, the MP led a productive day of engagements that brought hope to underserved areas. The initiatives focus on addressing long-standing challenges in water access, agriculture, and local commerce, reinforcing the NDC’s promise of inclusive progress.

The team commenced activities at Kpeta before proceeding to Akpotsa and Seva. In these communities, sod was cut for the construction of mechanised boreholes aimed at providing reliable access to safe drinking water. These projects are expected to end the perennial water scarcity that has plagued residents, significantly improving health outcomes and daily living conditions for families in the area.

At Ahorkpor, Hon. Nortsu-Kotoe cut the sod for a new weighing shed designed to boost agricultural and commercial activities. The facility will offer better support for local farmers and traders, enhancing efficiency in produce handling and market transactions. This infrastructure is poised to stimulate economic growth and create opportunities within the farming community.

In Avevi, another sod-cutting ceremony marked the beginning of work on a modern market shed. The project seeks to improve trading conditions for market women and other businesses by providing a conducive and organised environment. Such developments are vital for empowering local entrepreneurs and fostering sustainable livelihoods.

These initiatives underscore the MP’s unwavering dedication to transforming the lives of constituents through targeted investments in water, agriculture, and economic infrastructure. Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe and the NDC remain resolute in their determination to ensure no community is left behind in the constituency’s development agenda.
