Hon. James Gunu, accompanied by a high-level delegation of investors from the Chinese Africa Business Council, visited the Kpeve Water Pumping and Treatment Station in a strategic move aimed at bolstering water infrastructure in Ghana’s Volta Region. The delegation assessed the facility’s current operations and discussed potential investments to significantly expand its production capacity. This initiative underscores ongoing efforts to enhance access to safe and reliable potable water for communities across the region.

During the informative tour, Station Manager Mr. Eric Avornyo provided detailed briefings on the station’s operational processes, existing production levels, and its critical contribution to supplying clean water to various communities in the Volta Region. The visit highlighted both the strengths of the current setup and the opportunities available for modernization and scaling up output to meet growing demand.

The delegation included several prominent local leaders who joined Hon. Gunu in evaluating the investment prospects. Among them were the Member of Parliament for South Dayi and Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Kwami Etse Deafeamekpor, Esq.; the District Chief Executive for South Dayi, Hon. Courage Kwame Kokroko; and the District Chief Executive for Afadzato South, Hon. Manfred Tawiah. Their presence reinforced collaborative governance support for projects that drive regional progress.

The visit forms part of a broader strategy to attract strategic foreign investments into Ghana’s water sector. By partnering with international investors, authorities aim to strengthen infrastructure, increase water production capacity, and ultimately improve living standards for residents who depend on these essential services.

Hon. James Gunu expressed optimism about the outcomes of the engagement, reaffirming commitment to forging sustainable partnerships. Together with the participating leaders, he pledged continued efforts toward development initiatives that will deliver long-term benefits and enhance the quality of life for the people of the Volta Region.
