In direct fulfillment of his local representation mandate as enshrined in the Local Governance Act, the Assembly Member for the Fievie Electoral Area, Hon. Gattor Daniel-Kwasi, recently convened a high-level community engagement with residents at Fievie-Kpevikpo. The open forum provided a platform for deep consultations, stakeholder deliberations, and detailed reporting on three pressing developmental challenges that have long affected the daily livelihoods and economic progression of the community members.
Addressing the long-standing crisis of non-existent potable drinking water, Hon. Gattor outlined his persistent advocacy with district authorities and development partners to secure immediate relief. He revealed that negotiations with a non-governmental organization (NGO) are at an advanced stage to construct a comprehensive treatment system for the local dam stream. This safe water intervention is designed to alleviate the daily struggles of residents while long-term water pipeline extension efforts remain actively pursued.
On rural electrification, the Assembly Member presented a step-by-step account of his administrative and lobbying efforts to ensure Fievie-Kpevikpo is not left behind. He assured the gathering that concrete steps have been executed to officially enroll the community into the ongoing Self-Help Rural Electrification Programme (SHEP). This milestone brings the locality significantly closer to connecting to the national grid, which will power local homes and energize small business enterprises.
Concluding his address, Hon. Gattor outlined far-advanced operational plans targeting the rehabilitation of the electoral area’s deteriorating road network to boost local trade and enhance access to healthcare and social services. He expressed sincere appreciation to the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, for her steadfast administrative support, while acknowledging the broader developmental oversight and constituency-wide interventions driven by the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Maxwell Kwame Lukutor.
