On Friday, October 16, 2026, the Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Hon. Edem Kpotosu, hosted the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Hon. Sam Nartey George, on a comprehensive working tour of key project sites and communities across the constituency. The high-profile visit underscored a shared commitment to addressing telecommunication challenges on the ground and ensuring that Ho Central remains at the forefront of Ghana’s rapidly evolving digital economy.

A central highlight of the tour was a visit to the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), where the leadership delegation held a roundtable discussion with university stakeholders. The meeting focused on implementing immediate, practical solutions to fortify network connectivity across the campus. Recognizing that robust telecommunications services are essential for modern research, learning, healthcare delivery, and administration, both leaders reiterated that reliable digital access is no longer a luxury, but a vital foundation for academic and socio-economic advancement.

The strategic deliberations at UHAS also extended to the Government’s flagship One Million Coders Programme. Hon. Edem Kpotosu and Hon. Sam George explored tailored frameworks to ensure that UHAS students and local youth can fully participate in the transformative initiative. By expanding access to critical coding and digital skill training, the collaboration aims to enhance local youth employability, drive technological innovation, and prepare young Ghanaians to compete successfully in the global marketplace.

Reaffirming his commitment to his constituents, Hon. Edem Kpotosu emphasized that the tour provided invaluable firsthand insights into local infrastructure needs. Moving forward, the MP pledged to continue engaging state institutions, telecommunication companies, and key industry stakeholders to expand affordable, high-speed network coverage to every underserved community across Ho Central, ensuring no community is left behind in the national digital transformation agenda.
