Hon. Bedzrah Donates Supplies and Laptops to Digitalize District Healthcare Delivery

2 min read

The Member of Parliament for Ho West, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, presented a generous batch of essential medicines and medical consumables to the constituency on Friday, October 2nd. The comprehensive donation aims to address immediate supply shortages and improve the quality of clinical care provided across local clinics and community facilities. The items were formally received on behalf of the district by the Acting District Director of Health Services, Mr. Steven Nunoo.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to modernizing healthcare infrastructure, Hon. Bedzrah also presented 32 brand-new laptops to support the digitisation of patient management systems. The computers were handed over to representatives from the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), led by Mr. Seth Ohene, alongside the District Health Directorate. These laptops will be distributed across various health centres and Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) zones to transition health-record management from traditional pen-and-paper methods to efficient digital systems.

Highlighting the vision behind these initiatives, the lawmaker emphasized the need for a modern, tech-driven healthcare system that minimizes administrative delays and safeguards patient records. Healthcare workers across the constituency have long faced operational bottlenecks due to manual record-keeping, and this technological intervention is set to streamline patient registration, track treatment histories seamlessly, and enhance overall service delivery.

Looking to build on these advancements, Hon. Bedzrah further committed to providing additional resources, including document scanners and motorbikes, in the near future. The scanners will help digitize existing physical files, while the motorbikes will greatly enhance the mobility of health workers conducting community outreach and visiting remote CHPS zones. Through these sustained investments, the MP continues to prioritize the health and well-being of the people of Ho West.
