The Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) Outreach Team recently conducted a free health screening in Taviefe-Sreme, a community near Ho, to mark the first anniversary of the enstoolment of Togbe Dr. Kpegba Agbakpe I, Afetorfia of Taviefe-Sreme. Togbe Agbakpe, known privately as Dr. Prince Rockson, serves as a board member of the hospital.
The humanitarian initiative coincided with the climax of the area's annual Yam Festival, attracting hundreds of local residents, including women, children, and the elderly. The event aligns with the hospital's corporate social responsibility strategy to extend essential medical care to rural and underserved populations.
A multidisciplinary medical team composed of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and public health officials delivered comprehensive care throughout the day. Services rendered included blood pressure and blood glucose evaluations, routine medical consultations, public health education, and the distribution of prescribed medications.
Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to the hospital management and to Togbe Agbakpe for facilitating the intervention. Community elders praised HTH for the gesture and requested regular outreach events to assist in the early detection and management of chronic non-communicable conditions.
Additionally, local leaders commended Togbe Agbakpe for celebrating his milestone by providing vital health services to his community, encouraging other leaders to emulate his example.
