Ho Teaching Hospital Boosts Patient Safety with Specialized Training for Nurses and Midwives

1 min read

Ho Teaching Hospital has advanced its commitment to patient safety through a targeted training session on IV Push Medication Administration, led by Oncology Nurse Specialist Ms. Georgina Gyamfi.

The program was launched as a beneficiary-led patient safety initiative following Ms. Gyamfi’s participation in the Nurse Development Conference, organized by Operation Smile in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson.

The initiative aims to sharpen clinical skills among nursing staff through focused education, practical evaluations, and ongoing follow-up.

Addressing the participants, Ms. Gyamfi reinforced a fundamental healthcare principle: "If it isn't documented, it didn't happen." She underscored that precise and thorough documentation is critical, especially when handling high-risk drugs that demand exact dosing and careful reconstitution.
