As part of efforts to familiarize himself with personnel and operational areas across his area of responsibility, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Central Command, Brigadier General Joshua Amanor, paid his maiden visit to 3 Garrison at Liberation Barracks in Sunyani on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
During the visit, the Commanding Officer of the 3rd Infantry Battalion (3Bn), Lieutenant Colonel Michael Naah, briefed the GOC on the unit’s ongoing operational commitments and administrative activities.
In his address to the troops, Brigadier General Amanor outlined his vision for the command, emphasizing security, administrative efficiency, and technological integration. He urged personnel to uphold high standards of professionalism and vigilance, both within their respective units and at assigned operational posts.
Additionally, the GOC highlighted the importance of physical fitness and healthy living, reminding troops that maintaining good health is critical to overall well-being and operational readiness.
The maiden visit was part of a broader tour that included inspection of 3Bn Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) situated in Sampa, Dormaa, Sankore, Mim, and Kenyasi.
