The Western Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has ramped up its public safety efforts by conducting educational broadcasts on Radio 360 and FOX FM. These sessions focused on teaching residents how to spot and prevent potential fire hazards across residential areas and local marketplaces.
During the discussions, safety officers emphasized key precautions, including the proper handling of electrical outlets and appliances, clearing flammable waste, installing early fire alarms, and keeping fire extinguishers on hand.
In a related development, a team from the Market Circle Fire Post in Takoradi, headed by STNO I David Donkoh, carried out a routine inspection of fire hydrants throughout the New Market-Ahenfie area. The team checked water pressure, ease of access, and overall functionality to guarantee that the hydrants remain fully operational for any emergency response within the busy commercial center.
