The Juapong RC Basic School officially commissioned a fully furnished, modern Information and Communications Technology (ICT) laboratory. The project was spearheaded by the BEiT Foundation, founded by the reigning Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2025 queen, Etornam, in collaboration with the Maxim Nyansa IT Solutions Foundation. The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide for basic school pupils by equipping them with the vital technological skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Delivering the opening remarks at the colorful commissioning ceremony, the Headmistress of Juapong RC Basic School, Madam Patricia Danso, expressed profound gratitude to the donors and partners for their visionary support. She emphasized that access to a modern computer laboratory has long been a pressing need for the school, noting that practical ICT education will now replace purely theoretical lessons. Madam Danso urged both teachers and students to make maximum use of the facility and committed to maintaining the equipment to benefit generations of learners to come.
Speaking on behalf of the BEiT Foundation, Queen Etornam, a proud native of the Volta Region reaffirmed her dedication to empowering young minds through educational development and youth advancement across the region. She highlighted that partnering with the Maxim Nyansa Foundation was a strategic move to ensure the lab was not only stocked with quality hardware, but also integrated with sustainable educational IT software and support systems. Etornam encouraged the pupils, particularly young girls, to embrace technology confidently as a tool to unlock endless academic and career opportunities.
The commissioning event brought together traditional leaders, community elders, education officers, parents, and enthusiastic students who celebrated the dawn of a new educational chapter. The newly commissioned lab is expected to serve as a beacon of learning, enhancing student performance in ICT examinations and empowering the youth of Juapong with essential 21st-century skills.
