1 min read

During an official visit to Moscow, Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, urged for stronger collaboration with Russia to counter the growing threat of terrorism across the Sahel region.

Following bilateral talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Hon. Ablakwa highlighted the importance of an African-led strategy reinforced by international support.

He expressed Ghana’s gratitude for Russia's ongoing assistance in tackling violent extremism, while reinforcing that sustainable security solutions in the Sahel must remain driven and spearheaded by African nations.

This move by the two nations is in the right path to solving the security issues in the Sahel Region which always causes deaths, destruction and conflicts.
