GHANA NAVY : NRTS Holds Passing Out Religious Parade For BT 85

The Naval Recruits Training School (NRTS) has held a Passing Out Religious Parade for recruits of Basic Training Intake 85 (BT 85) on Sunday 6 September 2026 at the NRTS Lecture Hall, Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC), Nutekpor.

The service, held on the theme “Ready for Service, Rooted in Faith,” was organised as the recruits approach the completion of their basic training. It provided an opportunity for the recruits and instructors to give thanks to God for His guidance and protection throughout the training period while seeking spiritual strength and guidance for the responsibilities that await them.

The Islamic teaching, delivered by the Imam, Naval Lieutenant Saeed, reminded the recruits of the importance of faith, discipline, integrity and obedience as they prepare to transition into service. He encouraged them to uphold the values instilled in them during training and remain conscious of their responsibilities as members of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Delivering the sermon on the theme, the Command Chaplain, Sub Lieutenant Sebastian Osabarima, urged the recruits to remain firmly grounded in their faith as they embark on their military careers. He emphasised that readiness for service goes beyond physical and professional competence, requiring sound character, discipline, humility and a strong sense of duty.

In his remarks, the Guest of Honour and Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) NAVTRAC, Commodore James Adongo Agambire, commended the recruits for successfully progressing through the rigorous training programme. He noted that their journey at NRTS had been designed to equip them with the discipline, knowledge, skills and resilience required of military personnel.

The FOC urged the recruits to carry the lessons and values acquired during training into their future appointments and remain disciplined, professional and committed to duty. He further encouraged them to maintain their faith, uphold the good name of the Ghana Navy and serve with humility, courage and integrity.

The service brought together officers, instructors, staff, families and recruits in thanksgiving and reflection as BT 85 prepares to complete training and take the next step in their military careers.
