The Ghana Military Academy (GMA) held an Induction Religious Parade on Sunday, September 20, 2026, for Officer Cadets of Standard Military Course (SMC) 66 and Short Service Commission/Special Duties (SSC/SD) Intake 63. Convened at the Seth Amoama Auditorium in Whistler Barracks, Teshie, under the theme “Serving with Honour, Leading with Integrity,” the service offered the newly admitted cadets a dedicated platform to reaffirm their commitment to spiritual faith, strict military discipline, and the core values of service, loyalty, and obedience as they begin their rigorous training journey.
Spiritual leaders for the service emphasized the sacred responsibility and mental fortitude required of military personnel. Imam Lieutenant Mohammed Misbahu Saeed reminded the officer cadets that their uniform and authority represent a sacred trust demanding fairness, justice, and accountability to protect the nation’s interests. Complementing this exhortation, Reverend Squadron Leader Richard Asiedu-Perdison urged the cadets to view their selection as a privilege, encouraging them to persevere through upcoming hardships, obey instructions, and remain steadfast as their conduct during training will directly shape their future careers in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
Delivering the main address, Guest of Honour Major General Raymond Kwablah Ewusi (Rtd) highlighted that military leadership extends beyond tactics and physical prowess to encompass character, moral courage, and integrity. Describing the Academy as a crucible designed to forge resilience, he charged the cadets to uphold the traditions of the GAF and embody the GMA motto, “Service, Devotion and Sacrifice.” Maj Gen Ewusi (Rtd) underscored the vital role of teamwork, trust, and mutual respect among peers, while also acknowledging the vital support and sacrifices of the cadets' parents and guardians as the recruits embark on their transformational path.
