Ghana Medical Trust Fund Gives Vital Medical Help to Ghana Prisons Service

2 min read

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund, led by Administrator Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, has given a full container of life-saving medical equipment and essential healthcare supplies to the Ghana Prisons Service. This is one of the biggest health support packages the prisons have ever received. It shows the Fund’s goal to improve healthcare for all Ghanaians, no matter their situation.

Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku said good healthcare should not depend on a person’s status or location. She explained that every life has equal value and that the Fund’s work covers prisons as well as hospitals. She added that better prison healthcare also protects the wider public, since officers, workers, visitors and former inmates all mix with the community.

Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, warmly thanked the Fund for this important gift. She said the prisons had often been forgotten in the past, but this donation proves that the health of inmates and officers matters just as much as everyone else’s.

Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie promised that the equipment and supplies will be used well across the prison system to improve care and save lives. She also praised Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku for making sure the Fund’s help reaches every part of Ghana’s healthcare system, including the prisons.
