ECOMIG GHANCOY 10 Extends Civil-Military Support with Book and Food Donation to Berending Lower Basic School

​The Ghanaian Company 10 (GHANCOY 10) serving under the ECOWAS Mission in The Gambia (ECOMIG) has donated an assortment of stationery, educational books, and food supplies to Berending Lower Basic School. The outreach forms a core part of the contingent’s Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) framework, designed to foster strong community relations, support basic education, and address essential needs within the mission’s area of responsibility.

​The donated items are set to ease daily operational challenges for both learners and teaching staff, providing critical classroom materials to boost academic engagement while assisting the school's nutrition needs. School administrators and local community representatives expressed profound appreciation during the handover ceremony, noting that the gesture relieves financial strain on families and creates a more conducive environment for learning.

​Reaffirming their commitment beyond peace and security operations, leadership from GHANCOY 10 emphasized that investing in youth development remains integral to regional stability. By bridging civil-military gaps through impactful social interventions, ECOMIG continues to strengthen mutual trust, solidarity, and peace building between international peacekeepers and host communities across The Gambia.
