The recent floods and it's devastating nature have caused a lot of damages and destruction in the Central Tongu Constituency; collapsing road culverts, damaging roads and falling some electricity poles.
In a heartwarming efforts to curb this problems Hon. Sebastian Fred Deh, the Member of Parliament for Central Tongu joined the good people of Mafi Kpogadzi, Aklaya, Nutekpor, Aflokope, Kukudor and Teflekope as they took steps to address the challenges caused by the floods, particularly the damage to electricity poles in the affected communities around the Kele Creek.
The floods caused extensive damage to the electricity distribution infrastructure, with several poles uprooted, damaged or broken. This disrupted the reliable supply of electricity and left residents in these communities in darkness for the past few weeks.
Following consultations with community leaders and an assessment of the affected areas, it became clear that some of the existing pole alignments were no longer suitable due to changes in the terrain caused by the floods.
"I am pleased that work has commenced to address this challenge, at a cost of over GH¢200,000, to help restore a safe and reliable power supply" the MP stated in a post on Facebook.
