Baby Kidnapper Sentenced to Three Years in Prison with Hard Labour

A 31-year-old young lady; Stella Amedzorme who have been reported some weeks ago to have been arrested by the Ghana Police for forcefully abducting an eight-months-old baby at Kpando market, have been jailed three-years in prison.

The Volta North Regional Police Command has secured her prison sentence after court trials. 

The baby theft occurred on July 17, 2026, after the baby's mother briefly left him in Amedzorme’s care, where she later run away with. Upon several searches and report, the Police have arrested the her at Toviate in the Oti Region and rescued the child unharmed.

The suspect told the police she took the baby on the instructions of her fiancé, who remains at large.This swift and action by the Police is highly appreciated and praised by the parents and relatives of the found child.

The issues concerning human trafficking and kidnapping is becoming so alarming in Ghana. The Ghana Police Service are putting up their maximum efforts to eradicate inhumane practices as such.
