Anloga District Assembly Recieves VRA Delegation for Landmark 75MW Wind Power Project

The Anloga District Assembly recently hosted a high-level delegation from the Volta River Authority (VRA), led by Madam Rhodda Arthur, Principal Community Relations Officer, accompanied by a team of engineers and consultants. The visit focused on advancing discussions for a strategic renewable energy initiative centered on wind power generation. The project targets three key communities within the district, underscoring VRA’s commitment to sustainable development and clean energy expansion in the Volta Region.

According to feasibility studies conducted in 2012/2013, the proposed wind power project is expected to generate 75 megawatts of electricity upon full implementation and completion. This significant capacity will contribute substantially to Ghana’s renewable energy mix, providing reliable power while fostering economic growth and environmental sustainability in the Anloga District. The delegation engaged constructively with Assembly officials, sharing updates on project planning and addressing potential community impacts.
