The Akatsi South Municipal Assembly today organized a comprehensive road safety sensitisation programme for motor riders and drivers across various transport unions within the Municipality. The engagement brought together key stakeholders from the local transport sector to address critical road safety challenges and foster a culture of responsible road use.
During the session, participants were taken through practical topics, including responsible driving and riding practices, strict adherence to road traffic regulations, and the importance of maintain personal discipline on the road. Facilitators highlighted how simple actions, such as obeying speed limits, obeying road signs, and maintaining vehicles properly, significantly lower the risk of preventable crashes.
The Assembly strongly encouraged drivers and motor riders to exercise maximum caution at all times, reminding them to prioritize their own safety as well as that of their passengers and pedestrians. Union leaders and operators were urged to hold their members accountable and ensure that safety standard operating procedures are integrated into their daily routines.
