Former Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) and current Council of State Member, Air Marshal Michael Samson-Oje (Rtd), has applauded the command of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for its dedication to enhancing service conditions and modernizing military infrastructure.
He gave the commendation during a courtesy call at his Accra residence on Friday, August 14, 2026, by the CDS, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, and the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong.
Air Marshal Samson-Oje (Rtd) highlighted the current CDS’s focus on troop welfare, emphasizing that looking after personnel is vital for maintaining high morale, discipline, and overall mission readiness. He further praised Lieutenant General Agyapong for launching plans to redevelop Burma Camp by swapping out outdated buildings for state-of-the-art infrastructure.
Expressing his appreciation, Lieutenant General Agyapong thanked the retired Air Marshal for his ongoing counsel and encouragement since he took office. He noted that the present leadership's progress relies heavily on the solid foundation and sacrifices made by past military leaders.
