Agbodza Inspects Accra-Kumasi Highway as Contractors Resume Work

​Construction momentum has fully resumed along the vital Accra–Kumasi Highway following an on-site inspection led by the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza, and a team of ministry officials. The visit provided a firsthand assessment of progress on the multi-section reconstruction project, which serves as a major economic artery linking the national capital to Ghana’s central and northern regions.

​A significant highlight of the inspection was the confirmation that almost all contractors who had previously abandoned or suspended operations before 2024 are back on site. Heavy machinery and technical personnel have been redeployed across multiple stretches of the road, marking a clear departure from the delays that previously stalled work along this heavily traveled corridor.

​During the tour, Minister Agbodza commended the contractors for returning to duty and executing critical groundwork, while emphasizing the government’s commitment to resolving outstanding logistical and operational bottlenecks. He urged the construction firms to prioritize standard engineering benchmarks and keep to agreed timelines to ensure the completed dualization and rehabilitation meet long-term structural standards.
