An Accra Circuit Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator Kweku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as KOKA, after he failed to appear in court on 26 July 2026.
The warrant was granted following KOKA’s absence from proceedings related to criminal charges brought against him. Court officials confirmed that his non-appearance prompted the judge to order his immediate arrest to ensure he faces the allegations.
KOKA is accused of allegedly threatening to kill staff of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and of publishing false news. The charges stem from statements and publications attributed to him that prosecutors claim crossed legal boundaries.
The case continues to draw public attention as authorities move to enforce the court’s order. Further details on the next hearing date are expected once KOKA is brought before the court.
