The 81 Signal Regiment of the Ghana Army, in strategic partnership with Soko Aerial Robotics and the Signal Training School, hosted an immersive Communication and Information Systems (CIS) Exhibition for selected schools across the Greater Accra Region. Organised as part of activities marking the third anniversary of the operationalisation of the Regiment, the event aimed to expose young minds to modern military technology, emergency communication systems, and basic robotics. Students were given interactive demonstrations highlighting how cutting-edge communications infrastructure supports national defense, disaster management, and tactical security.
Throughout the exhibition, military signals personnel and engineering experts from Soko Aerial Robotics walked students through the fundamentals of radio communications, drone technology, and digital signal processing. Hands-on sessions allowed participating students to engage directly with specialized equipment, encouraging interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Representatives from the Signal Training School emphasized the critical role of technology in modern peacekeeping and defense operations, inspiring many of the visiting students to consider future careers in technological innovation and military signal engineering.
Speaking at the event, command leadership highlighted that celebrating three years of operational success is not only about reflecting on past achievements, but also about investing in the next generation. By opening its doors to local educational institutions, the 81 Signal Regiment reinforced its commitment to community engagement and civil-military cooperation. The exhibition concluded with interactive Q&A sessions and demonstrations, leaving educators and students impressed by the Regiment's forward-looking approach to national security and technical education.
