Tongu Educational Leaders Support Three Deprived Basic Schools with Learning Materials

​The Union of Tongu Citizens in Educational Leadership has presented an assortment of educational supplies to three underprivileged basic schools located across the three Tongu constituencies.

​Formed by Senior High School headteachers and Directors of Education native to the Tongu area, the organization focuses on helping under-resourced schools and uplifting students in need.

​A delegation led by the Union's Vice Chairman, Mr. Wisdom Kwame Adeti (Headmaster of Dabala Technical SHS), toured the selected schools on Monday. The beneficiary institutions include Tsetsekpo D/A Basic School in Central Tongu, Nyaflakpo Basic School in North Tongu, and Sobukpo Bekpo Basic School in South Tongu.

​Items donated during the visit comprise:

Exercise Books, Writing Tools, Reading Materials, Mathematical Sets, 30 school uniforms and multiple school bags

​The visiting team included notable educational leaders such as Rev. Agbeyome (Headmaster of Abor SHS), Mr. Franklin Amesimeku (HEPSS), Mr. Sampson Castro Wede (Volta Technical Institute), heads of Mafi Kumase SHS, Dorfor SHS, and Battor Aveyime SHTS, Mad. Vinolia Afi Gakpetor (St. Catherine Girls SHS), Peace Ama Goka (Peki SHS), Mr. Sef Johnson Nyadzi (former Headmaster of Jim Bourton Agric SHS), and Madam Celestine Agordo (South Tongu District Director of Education).

​According to the Union, this initiative forms part of its ongoing commitment to give back to society and enhance the quality of education in underserved areas. The group also assured that similar donations will be rolled out to additional schools across the Tongu region in due course.
