The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has handed three players a three-year ban after been found guilty of double registration by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association in relation with Article 28(2)(c) of the GFA RFA Leagues Regulations.
Youngster Seth Abatsa of Talon FC and John Wornegou of Fotobiman FC were found to have changed their dates of birth and other registration information and have been banned three years from all football related activities in the country and beyond.
Their teams have also been banned from registering new players for a period of one year and would have to use their available players for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
The Disciplinary Committee also affirmed a decision of the Northern Region Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee which handed a ban to STK Stars FC’s Abubakari Sadik Saeed.
The GFA’s IT Department has been tasked to eliminate the changed records of the three players as soon as possible.
The Ghana FA has urged all players with double registration details in the FIFA Connect system to delete their altered records because a more severe punishment would be given to such players who would be found guilty of practicing such a fraudulent act going forward.
