The music industry is a very dark place - Real Keddy

2 min read

“Agoo” hitmaker Real Keddy has described the music industry as a challenging and often unfair environment for emerging talents.

Speaking during an interview on Sela Radio, the artiste revealed that many upcoming musicians struggle to gain visibility because established acts dominate the spotlight and control many of the opportunities within the industry.

According to Real Keddy, the influence and popularity of well-known musicians often make it difficult for new artists to break through and showcase their talents to a wider audience. He noted that while the industry is expected to provide equal opportunities for all, many young musicians find themselves competing against individuals who already have strong networks, financial backing, and loyal fan bases.

The artiste explained that despite these challenges, upcoming musicians must remain determined and continue investing in their craft. He encouraged young talents not to be discouraged by the obstacles they encounter but rather focus on producing quality music and building their brands steadily.

He added that persistence and consistency remain key ingredients for success in the entertainment business.

Real Keddy further called on industry stakeholders, media houses, and established musicians to support and mentor emerging talents.

He believes that creating more platforms for young artistes to showcase their abilities will help strengthen the music industry and ensure that gifted musicians are given the recognition and opportunities they deserve.
