Pre-Burial Service Held For Dzifa Attivor

 

 

A three-hour burial service was held on Thursday at the forecourt of the State House for Mrs. Dzifa Aku Attivor, a Former Minister for Transport.

The service was attended by Former President John Dramani Mahama, former President Mahama’s Running mate for the 2020 Presidential Election, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, some Ministers of State and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

 

Former President Mahama described Mrs Attivor as an inspirational leader whose life touched many, “through her selfless service to her community, her Party and her nation.”

 

“Madam Dzifa Attivor embodied many admirable qualities. She was forthright and unapologetic about her love for the NDC and in return the NDC loved her. She was imbued with native wisdom; she was matured and self-assured. One of the qualities that stood her out was the fact that she never hesitated to give her support to young people and to support party activists and the Party in general.”

 

Mr David Osafo Adonteng, Director, Planning and Programmes, National Road Safety Authority said Mrs Attivor worked towards the introduction of the road traffic regulations 2012, L.I. 2180 to replace the 1974 road traffic regulations.

 

“She did her best in helping the National Road Safety Authority to manage the Okada situation as well.”

 

Mrs Attivor died in the early hours of Tuesday, November 16, after a short illness.

She served as a transport minister under the government of the former president, John Mahama between February 2013 and resigned in December 2015.

 

She will be laid in state on Friday, February 18, at the Shalom Chapel, Abutia-Teti in the Volta Region.

A burial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, at Abutia-Teti, which will be followed by a private burial.
