Police Officer Sells Personal Motorbike to Fund High School Supplies for 15 Students

​Fifteen graduates from Wuxor M/A Basic School in the Akatsi South Municipality have received essential educational supplies to aid their transition into Senior High School (SHS). The support package, presented at the school premises for onward distribution, included 15 mattresses, 15 trunk chalkboxes, exercise books, notebooks, and pens. The timely intervention was made possible through a joint effort between Sergeant Ofosu Kwakye of the Akatsi Police Command and Madam Mavis Adih, aimed at alleviating the financial burden on local families as their children step into secondary education.

​The highlight of the initiative was the extraordinary personal sacrifice made by Sergeant Ofosu Kwakye, who sold his own motorbike to raise the funds needed to purchase the supplies. Disclosing his decision during the presentation, the officer emphasized his commitment to community service and the youth's future, choosing to give up his primary mode of transport to ensure the students did not miss out on their educational goals. His selflessness, paired with Madam Adih’s generous contributions, brought immense relief and joy to the students, parents, and community members gathered at the ceremony.

​Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Assemblymember for the Wuxor, Have, and Sremanu Electoral Area expressed profound gratitude to both donors. He described the gesture as far more than a delivery of material items, calling it a vital vote of confidence in the potential of the young scholars. The Assemblymember also commended the headmaster and teaching staff of Wuxor M/A Basic School, noting that the successful qualification of all 15 students was a direct result of the hard work and strong collaboration between teachers, parents, and the broader community.

​Addressing the 15 SHS candidates directly, the Assemblymember urged them to remain disciplined and dedicated to their studies as they begin this new chapter. He reminded them that the sacrifices made on their behalf especially the selfless act of Sergeant Kwakye should serve as a constant source of motivation. He encouraged the students to excel academically and make the entire Wuxor, Have, and Sremanu electoral area proud.
