According to a press statement dated July 29, 2026, the results are being sent to schools through Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of Education. Candidates who prefer can also check them online at the Council’s website, www.waecgh.org.
A total of 620,243 candidates from 20,789 schools sat the examination. This number included 304,415 boys and 315,828 girls. Among them were 136 candidates with visual impairment, 282 with hearing assessment needs and 510 who required other special arrangements. The papers were written at 2,237 centres across the country, though 3,601 candidates were absent.
On examination irregularities, the Council reported that subject results of 496 candidates and the entire results of 105 others have been cancelled. Subject results of 119 candidates and the full results of 48 more have been withheld. In addition, results of 2,722 candidates from 229 schools are being held for further investigation, with a decision expected by the end of August.
WAEC has advised candidates and the public to ignore anyone promising to upgrade results for a fee, stressing that the official results are secure and can be verified. The Council also thanked the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, security agencies, school heads, supervisors, invigilators and examiners for their support in ensuring a successful examination and timely release of the results.
