Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah joined the 13th International Forum for Technological Development, TECHNOPROM-2026, which took place in the Novosibirsk region of the Russian Federation from August 24 to 29, 2026. Centered on the theme "Russian Science the Foundation of Technological Leadership," the global platform highlighted cutting-edge innovations across various scientific fields. A key highlight of the event was the official inauguration of the Siberian Circular Photon Source (SKIF), a megascience-class facility located in the science town of Koltsovo, demonstrating Russia's expanding technological sovereignty.
To strengthen ties between Russia and the African continent, a dedicated side program was organized by The Russian House Center for Policy Diplomacy. This initiative brought together African diplomats based in Russia and other international delegates to visit top universities throughout the Novosibirsk region. The engagements featured bilateral discussions geared toward fostering international academic cooperation, joint research endeavors, and institutional partnerships between Russian and African higher learning institutions.
Hon. Bedzrah emphasized that Africa's youth deserve unwavering support to actively participate in rapidly evolving scientific fields, particularly Artificial Intelligence and advanced technological systems. He noted that acquiring skills in these emerging sectors is vital for driving the accelerated economic and developmental growth needed across the African continent.
To turn this vision into reality, Hon. Bedzrah expressed high hopes for students in his constituency who are currently enrolled in preparatory courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Programming, and the Russian language. He urged both these students and prospective graduate candidates to dedicate themselves to their studies so they can secure admission into Novosibirsk State Technical University in Russia, where they can pursue hands-on engineering degrees designed to fuel the African renaissance.
Although Hon. Bedzrah participated in the global conference virtually, his office was represented on the ground by his Head of Office, Moses Adzei. Mr. Adzei attended all scheduled sessions and university engagements in person, actively contributing to the forum's deliberations and subsequently filing a comprehensive report on the outcomes of the summit.
